We wanted to have a "White Christmas" but when is enough, enough?
I wanted to go out and photograph this snow storm on Christmas Day but I didn't have time so I went out the day after Christmas.
I was back and forth on whether or not I even wanted to attempt this but in the end, I did and I'm happy that I did!
I wasn't sure where I wanted to go. At first, I wanted to go to State Street but I also wanted to go to a residential neighborhood.
I decided to go to the Frontier area.
Once we pulled into the parking lot and got out of the vehicle I see a guy shoveling out his vehicle with a sled.
I asked him if he would mind if I took a photo and then I would help push him out. He was okay with that.

After taking a couple shots of him, I went and put my camera in my car.
By this time, another vehicle pulled up and offered their help.
After we got him out, we talked briefly and he said that he is the Conductor of the Jr. Erie Phil Harmonic.
We leave from there and start driving, looking for things to photograph to tell the story.
I see a shovel in the snow, so I pull over and take a photo.

We start driving again and I see two guys outside talking.
I pull over and ask them if they would mind if I took a quick photo of them.
They were fine with it, so I told them to just keep talking and to stand in front of his license plate.

After taking the photo, I thanked them and got back in my car for the next thing to photograph.
I came across a few kids playing in the snow, having a snowball fight and going in and out of an igloo that they made.
When I got out of my car, all of the kids stopped what they were doing and ran to the driveway, which was a very good thing to see!
I ask them if their mom or dad is home and if they can get them for me.
The mom came out and I explained to her what I was doing and if I could have permission to take some photos of the kids while they're playing.
I gave the mom a business card and she wrote down her email address. I told her I would send her the photos that I take.
In this photo, one of the girls is coming out of one of the doors from her igloo.
She said that she worked on it yesterday (Christmas Day) and finished it today.
The other girl is sitting on a snow-seat that they made on top of the igloo.

They were trying to decide on what they wanted to do next.

They decided to have a snowball fight and started running!

The girl in the green jacket is ready while they other girl is still getting snow to form a snowball. Better hurry!

The girl in the green jacket throws her snowball.

They then decide to sled down a hill that they also made.

I look over at the boys who are now also having a snowball fight.

The girls decide to team up against the boys.

I tell the kids that I'm all done there and to have fun!
I then came across a snowman wearing a hoodie.
I'm guessing it was an attempt to keep him warm.

We leave from the snowman and I see another car that is plowed in and people snow-blowing and shoveling across the street.

The girl thought it would be funny for them to smile for the camera and leave the other guy in the background to do all of the work.

A funny thing about this photo is there's a Browns fan, Bills fan (guy in the back) and (I'm) a Steelers fan, all in one spot.
We then go to the hill at Frontier Park where people are sledding.
By the time we walk from my car to the hill, it's almost a complete whiteout.

Off they go!

At this point, I'm thinking I'm done for the day and start heading home.
From a block away, I see a police car with it's lights on.
I was going to turn and go in a different direction but decided to go straight and see what was going on.
As I pulled up, I noticed that the vehicle was stuck in the snow.
I pulled over to the side of the road and asked if I could take a photo before helping to get him out.

It was definitely a fun day, especially because it has been a while since I have been out taking photos.
I plan on going out again, soon!
